This Sunday, Pastor Alicia Lytle delivered a word from a new 6 week series entitled Revival: The Recovery. Pastor Alicia encouraged us to learn from Ezra’s recounting of the historical challenges faced by the Israelites as guidance for making better choices and overcoming the struggles we face today.
Focus Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 21:1-18
We must be obedient to God and follow His instructions for our lives. If we sin by disobeying God, we will have consequences that impact our lives and others. Our decisions should be pleasing to God and in accordance with His will. Thankfully, Jesus paid the price for our sins and God allows us to have a “do over” when we repent for wrong choices. King David’s prayer provides a roadmap of how we can restart our lives after a sinful choice:
Roadmap to Restart
- Admit you sin ( 1 Chr. 21: 17a)
- Take responsibility for your actions (1 Chr. 21:17b)
- Make things right (1 Chr. 21:18)
- Do more than He asks (1 Chr. 21:19)
How will you seek God’s guidance in your decision making?
