This Sunday, we continued in the series Revival, and Pastor Alicia imparted a message on God’s gift of wisdom to King Solomon. We learned the importance of seeking wisdom from God and how this leads to a fulfilled life.
Focus Scriptures: 2 Chronicles 1; 1 Kings 4:29-34
Solomon made a large sacrifice of burnt offerings to the Lord as a young King. He gave all he had to God. When God asked Solomon what he wanted, Solomon selflessly asked for wisdom and knowledge to lead the people of Israel. As a result, the nation of Israel prospered greatly under King Solomon’s rule.
We learn that although Solomon was a great and wise King, he still needed to spend time with the Lord in prayer. God’s response to King Solomon’s prayer offers instruction on how we can reboot our lives and heal our land: (2 Chronicles 7:14)
- Humble yourself
- Seek God’s face
- Turn from your wicked ways
Wisdom is a great gift from God that allows us to start over and live life at a higher level. Here are 4 steps to recover well:
- Make a burnt offering (build an offer of all you have in your heart to God)
- Ask God for wisdom
- Pursue wisdom in Proverbs
- Walk in wisdom
